This series of seminars on important topics are all approximately one hour and provide plenty of time to ask questions. Best of all, you don’t even have to leave your home to attend. Choose the topic that most closely matches your family's educational needs.

Using K¹²: Part Parent, Part Teacher

When you began exploring the K¹² curriculum and the possibility of teaching your child at home, you probably began wondering how parents juggle the role of parent and teacher, especially for families who are choosing to purchase K¹² as a homeschooler. This seminar focuses on the Online School (OLS) tools and features, and walks you through learning schedules, lessons, planning, materials, assessments, and attendance options. You'll also see the progress tool, which helps parents evaluate what they've already covered and what needs to be covered in future lessons. Each one offers a unique and focused presentation about a specific K¹² curriculum subject area and provides insight into the course philosophy and hierarchy of that subject. You'll also hear how the course correlates with other K¹² subjects and, in some cases, receive handouts for additional activities for you and your children. These seminars are geared to introducing families to powerspeaK¹², K¹²'s foreign language curriculum. Each seminar will discuss how the curriculum is built for kids, demonstrate the online learning tools including audio and answer questions.

These seminars focus on student academic achievement by sharing test results of students using K¹² through the Florida Virtual Academy since homeschool student records are not available. The seminar will also go into course and philosophy details.

Many parents have expressed concern about teaching their child at home due to worries and fears about proper socialization. This seminar delves into research regarding homeschooling and socialization as well as introduces methods to incorporate social, academic and athletic aspects into everyday studies. This is a must attend presentation for any parent (or extended family member) expressing concerns about making sure her child is well-rounded and properly socialized.
